Many of us might look to buy a different New Year's Eve dress every year. It's irresistible, really, because 31 December is the one time of year where you can discard modern society's smart/casual restrictions and feel free to go all-out in sequins, satin, metallics, lurex and lamé – perhaps even all thrown together.
But, while we fully encourage you to go shopping for a new party outfit, it's important to be mindful of what you're buying; one-hit-wonders aren't the best use of wardrobe space, nor are they a sustainable choice.
